Tom Pingel is the
Director of High Performance National Programs at USA
Volleyball. He served as Director HP Junior Programs
before assuming added responsibilites including the
National Teams after the Sydney Olympics. Pingel's
responsibilities include development, monitoring and
supervision of all High Performance programs including
the National Teams, U.S. Junior and Youth National Teams,
the High Performance National Camps. Pingel joins USA
Volleyball after serving as the director of the Circle
City Volleyball Club in Indianapolis.
He is no stranger to USA Volleyball. He has served as the
Youth and Junior Olympic Volleyball Division Vice President
since that division's inception in 1991. Pingel has also been a
nationally certified volleyball referee since 1988.
Even before becoming a full time staff member in 1999
through today, Pingel has been active on the international side
of the sport serving as a Head of Delegation on numerous
occasions beginning in 1994 for various Youth, Junior and
National Team trips, including the Women's World Championships
in the fall of 2002. He is currently a member of the Sports
Organizing Commission of the NORCECA Confederation of the
FIVB.
Pingel and his wife Theresa have a nine-year old son named
Austin and a six-year old daughter named Jordan. In his free
time, Pingel enjoys being outdoors. He plays golf and tends to
his vegetable garden.
