About Beach Age Groups
USA Volleyball’s National Team Development Program follows the international age division model as directed by the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB), the international governing body for all forms of volleyball. Age divisions for NTDP and FIVB are based on birth year, different from the USA Volleyball junior player age definitions.
Under the FIVB, an athlete born between January 1 through December 31 of the same year falls within the same age group, regardless of their academic grade level. It’s important to note that, although academically these athletes can be in different grades, they are considered to be in the same age group because they were born in the same year.

*U26-U19 are age-eligible to participate in the 2024 World University Championship Beach National Team Trials.
*U19 and under are age-eligible to participate in the 2024 U19 FIVB World Championship Beach National Team Trials.
*U20 and under will be age-eligible to participate in the 2025 U21 FIVB World Championship Beach National Team Trials.
