USA Volleyball 2008 Girls’ SELECT Developmental A1 Program Invitees

Congratulations!  You have been invited to the Girls’ USA SELECT Developmental A1 program (GSEL DA1).

The USA Volleyball Girls’ USA Select - Development A1 Camp program locations and dates are:

Spots in these camps are allocated on a first come, first serve basis.  Space is limited by positional requirements and will fill quickly!  Once camp locations are full, a waiting list will be available.

Cost of the USA Volleyball Girls’ USA Select – Development A1 Camp program is $600. This includes room, board, training and local ground transportation (does not include transportation to/from the camp host city).  All athletes that fly to a camp location will be met at the airport and transported to camp by USAV camp staff.

The Girls’ DA1 program is a very important step in our USA Pipeline.  It serves a number of important purposes:

• It brings top coaches to players in a concentrated training environment that promotes learning and skill acquisition.
• The selected nature of the program ensures similar skill levels, allowing the players to progress, and the camp to move forward.
• It allows players to demonstrate their ability to learn and improve within a short training period (this is a very important ability for HP and collegiate programs).
• It provides participants with a standard and measure of how they need to improve, and where they need to get to, to progress to the next level.
• Coach to athlete ratio is 1:8.
