2006 HIGH PERFORMANCE TRYOUT PAGE

Participation in all levels of USAV High Performance camps and teams is determined by athlete selection at a tryout. These tryouts for boys and girls are held across the country each year.

The biggest reason for participating in a USAV HP tryout is to win a spot on our USA Select, Youth, or Junior National Team roster (depending on the athlete's year of birth). The HP Department will expand the number of domestic team opportunities in 2006. We will offer two USA Select teams, seven Youth National age teams, and three Junior National age teams that will train prior to and compete in the USAV High Performance Championships. Also, athletes can compete for spots in one of our Development Camps.

Registering for Tryouts

In 2006, athletes again have the option of registering directly on-line or printing an application form and then faxing or mailing it to our office in Colorado Springs, CO. Both of these methods are available through this section of our High Performance website.

For both on-line registration and printing/faxing tryout registration, the cost for registering is $65. The cost increases to $100 at midnight one week before the tryout, including walk-ups. All applications received in our office will be charged the $100. If you mailed a check you will have a balance due at the tryout. For example, if a tryout is on a Thursday the cost increases to $100 at 12am on the previous Thursday morning. If a tryout is on Sunday the cost increases at 12am on the previous Sunday morning.

A very important part of tryout registration is having your parents sign the medical release form and submitting that to the USAV office. If you use the on-line registration, the medical release form must still be downloaded, signed and faxed to our office. That form can be found on the on-line registration page.

If you are not a member of USA Volleyball (if you don't play on a USAV juniors club team, you are probably not a member), then you must pay an additional $5.00, and you must complete, sign and submit a USAV Administrative One-Time Event Form.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please do not use the on-line registration system within 48 hours of the time of the tryout. Our staff will be traveling to the tryout during that period, and it is best to print out the registration forms and to bring them to the tryout site with your payment and signed (by parents) Medical Release Form.
