PERSONAL: Born Nicholas James Scheftic on November 25, 1982… Parents are Steve and Mary Scheftic… Attended Bishop Diego High School from 1998-2001… Played for the Santa Barbara Volleyball Club… Attended UCLA from 2001-2006 and has a BS in sociology… Favorite food is salmon… Favorite movie is “Anchorman” and favorite TV show is “Curb Your Enthusiasm”… Hobbies include going to the beach and surfing… His happiest moment in volleyball was winning the National Championship in 2006.

INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION: 2008 – Played professionally in Qatar and Spain. 2007 – Was a member of the U.S. Men’s Team that finished third at the World University Games in Bangkok, Thailand.

COLLEGE HIGHLIGHTS: 2006 – Starter on the 2006 NCAA championship team… 2006 UCSB Classic All-Tournament Team member… AVCA Player of the Week for Apr. 3, 2006… Tied for 13th nationally in hitting percentage at .427… Recorded 18 double-digit kill matches in 2006. 2005 – Played in six matches and eight games… Recorded season-high of 5.5 points and four kills (.429) vs. CSN (1/8)… Recorded season-high of five kills (.333) vs. UCSD (2/11) off the bench… One of the team's most improved players during the Fall 2005 campaign. 2004 – Played in six matches and nine games… Spiked a season-high of five kills vs. UOP (1/9) and added seven total blocks and 10 points… Recorded three kills (.400) and one block assist vs. UCSB (4/17)… Also had two kills and a block assist vs. La Verne. 2003 – Played in four matches and eight games… Spiked a career-high of six kills vs. BYU (2/1)… Blocked a season-high of five balls vs. UCSC and hit .400 (2-0-5). 2002 – Redshirt season.
