INTERNATIONAL HIGHLIGHTS: 2007 – Played in 15 sets during Pan American Cup, including one set start against Brazil on June 28…Played in all five match of the Pan American Games, including starts in the final three contests…Tallied 81 assists in 13 sets during the Pan American Games, in addition to four aces and four blocks…Averaged 2.69 digs per set on defense at Pan American Games…Recorded 29 assists, three aces and two blocks in bronze medal match against Peru on July 19…Played in 10 sets of the World Grand Prix, mostly as a situational substitution late in sets…Provided eight assists for the U.S. at the World Grand Prix.
COLLEGE HIGHLIGHTS: Thompson, a three-time AVCA All-America First-Team selection playing for the University of Washington, set the Pacific-10 Conference record with 6,552 assists for third best in NCAA Division I history. In addition, she set the NCAA record for career assists per game with 14.56. Thompson also concluded her career with a school-best 450 starts leading to three appearances in the NCAA Division I Tournament national semifinals and one regional final. She added 1,059-career digs for sixth-best in school history. As a junior, she earned the Honda Sports Award for best volleyball player after leading the Huskies to their first national championship. She received a ESPY Top Female College Athlete nomination in 2005. As a senior, she again was a finalist for the Honda Sports Award as she set the Huskies to a .281 team attack percentage on 14.50 assists per game. Thompson is a three-time ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American.

What do you like to do in your spare time?
Watch sports, play board games, go hiking, and sometimes read.

I hope to be a collegiate athletic director.

Dawn Colston- she's the best!
Where would you like to spend a week's vacation?
In a cabin in the mountains, and I would definitely invite my family.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
The Great Northwest! It's beautiful and the people are just good people.
What is your favorite room in your house and why?
The family room, because I love sitting by the fire and watching a good football game.
What is the one luxury item that you could not do without?
My baby blanket…and yes that is a luxury.
What is your favorite television program?
Probably ESPN…or Oprah. Completely depends on the mood.
What are your favorite movies?
Braveheart, Notting Hill, and The Little Mermaid.
What is your favorite book?
Tuesday's With Morrie.
Who is the funniest player on the women's national team?
Sarah Drury is really stinkin' funny…I haven't met the whole team, but she's definitely on the top of the list.
Are you a morning person, afternoon person or night person?
I'm a huge fan of them all really.
On an airplane, would you rather, sleep, read, work on a computer or talk with the person sitting next to you?
Talk with the person sitting next to me, unless they didn't have a piece of gum.
What is your favorite restaurant to eat at?
Kami Teriyaki in Kent (Wash.). It's amazing.
What fad were you involved in during junior high school that many would be surprised to learn?
I was in Jazz Band, and I rocked a cumber bun.
If you could have one super power, what would it be?
I would love to have the ability that when I pointed at someone they immediately burst into hysterical laughter. That would be really funny.
If you could live in another time period for a week, which one would you choose?
I would like to live whenever there were Castles and Knights.
What is your favorite season – winter, spring, summer or fall?
I like the fall because its volleyball season, and there is a lot of football on. AND, it's really pretty in Seattle.
What is one off-the-court talent that you have?
I can do a gorilla impression that is kind of disturbing, but funny. I also imitate lizards.
