Diane French is in her fourth year serving as the technical coordinator for the USA women’s national team. She is responsible for various activities for Team USA, including statistical analysis through in-match statistical entry, scouting and videotaping.

Formerly Diane McCormick, French played for Team USA for five years from 1975-80. She was a member of the 1980 USA Women’s Olympic Volleyball Team that was not allowed to compete at the Moscow Summer Games due to the American boycott.

French remained in Colorado Springs at the conclusion of her national team career and started a 24-year Information Technology career with Hewlett Packard and Agilent Technologies specializing in project management, application development and support. She also served as an IT consultant for various companies.

French, a native of Charleroi, Pa., graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor of science degree in mathematics and a minor in computer science. She was also a player on IUP’s very first women’s volleyball and basketball teams. In 1997, she was inducted into the IUP Athletic Hall of Fame.

French and her husband Rick, a teacher in Widefield School District 3 in Colorado, have twin daughters, Mary and Sarah, who will turn 24 on March 5, 2008.
