MAJOR INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION: 2007 – Pan American Games (Bronze Medal).

INTERNATIONAL HIGHLIGHTS: 2007 – Playing her first tournament ever at libero, the converted outside hitter averaged 3.06 digs per set during the Pan American Games…Tallied 14 digs against Brazil on July 18 during the Pan American Games semifinals, followed by 11 digs versus Peru on July 19 in bronze medal match.

COLLEGE HIGHLIGHTS: Fenton was a three-time letterwinner competing for the Bulldogs from 2001-04. She was selected AVCA All-West Region and All-Western Athletic Conference First-Time twice, along with AVCA All-America honorable mention in 2003. In three-plus years at Fresno State, Fenton accumulated 1,353 kills for a 3.96 kills per game average. Her kill total ranks third in school history, while her kill average is second all-time. Fenton produced a career-best and school rally-era record 41 kills in a five-game match against Cal State Northridge during her junior season. From Sept. 28, 2002, through Sept. 16, 2004, Fenton posted a streak of 52 consecutive 10-plus kill matches.

What is your pre-match ritual?
I sit in my chair or on the floor and listen to music that pumps me up and I picture the game in my mind play by play. Then I'll study the scouting report, say a prayer and get focused and ready to play.

On an airplane, would you rather, sleep, read, work on a computer or talk with the person sitting next to you?
My first choice: I wouldn't even be on a plane (I'm a white knuckler with the armrests on a plane) but I guess I would probably read or sleep.

What is the best thing about competing on the USA Women’s National Team?
It's all about competing on an International level. You're playing with the best of the best and it's so much fun!!!

What sport would you be competing in if not for volleyball?
Probably basketball, but I'd want to try curling. (random, I know)

Steve Yzerman

What is your favorite food?
sushi

What is your favorite restaurant to eat at?
Mongolian Barbeque

What is your hometown best known for?
9 volleyball state championships in 10 years; I was on the first four

How many different languages can you converse in?
umm... English, I know a few Spanish phrases; I'm teaching myself German and oh yeah...occasionally I'll make up my own language or words. It's fun to do that in public--people ask where you're from or what language you're speaking and you can really roll with it.

What was your favorite subject in school?
history

What is your fondest child-hood memory?
we took a trip to Vermont and my brother got a blow-up dolphin to use in the pool. He named it 'Splash". Doing my job as a big sister, I asked him questions to get him to say the Dolphin's name, "Splash". Everytime he said "Splash" I would splash him with water. Turns out, he didn't like that too much and neither did my parents. Yeah, that was a short night at the swimming pool.

What fad were you involved in during junior high school that many would be surprised to learn?
I used to have the big bangs on my forehead with lots of hairspray to hold them up. I also rolled my jeans over then folded them up to just above my ankles. Oh, the stirrup pants tucked into the high pink socks that were scrunched down. I miss those days.

If you could see any musical act or performer (dead or alive) in concert, who would it be?
I would see Mozart. Isn't his music supposed to make you smarter???

If you could have one super power, what would it be?
it's not as bad as it sounds, but I would have x-ray vision. I don't know why, but I always thought it would be cool. No, I'm not weird.

If you could live in another time period for a week, which one would you choose?
I would love to go back to Jesus' time
