USA Volleyball 2008 - Girls’ HP Training Camps

The USA Volleyball High Performance Training Camps are OPEN to athletes born in 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995 or later. The HP Training Camp is for athletes not ready to train at our Development camp level or for Athletes that did not attend a USA Volleyball National High Performance Tryout, yet want to train under the guidance of a USA Volleyball High Performance.

USA Volleyball has entered into an affiliation with American Athlete, Inc. for the administration and execution of the High Performance Training Camps. American Athlete is a company devoted to quality volleyball camps and clinics throughout the United States. USA Volleyball High Performance works closely with American Athlete to ensure structure and programming is consistent for all High Performance camps.

The Girls’ HP Development Program is a very important step in our USA Pipeline. It serves a number of important purposes:
  • It brings top coaches to players in a concentrated training environment that promotes learning and skill acquisition.
  • The selected nature of the program ensures similar skill levels, allowing the players to progress, and the camp to move forward.
  • It bridges the geographical gaps among different players, clubs and playing styles from across the country, providing depth and richness to the learning experience.
  • It allows the athletes to experience the volume and style of training and practice that will be expected from them should they play volleyball at the collegiate or National HP level.
  • It allows players to demonstrate their ability to learn and improve within a short training period (this is a very important ability for HP and collegiate programs).
  • It provides participants with a standard and measure of how they need to improve, and where they need to get to, to progress to the next level.
  • Coach to athlete ratio is 1:8.

An important goal of our Girls’ HP Training Program is to give these athletes the very same level of training and expectations that we give to athletes in our National-level and A2 programs. Each of our Head Coaches, and many of our assistant coaches, have played prominent roles in the development, progress and success of our National High Performance Program. This year, we have eight Girls’ HP Training Camps available. Those camp dates are:
