2008 USA Volleyball Women’s Junior Training Team Invitees

Congratulations! You have been selected to the 2008 USA Volleyball Women’s Junior National Training Team (WJNTT). You, along with 18 other top athletes, will arrive at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, CA, on July 8th and train from July 8th – 19th.  Out of the 19 athletes, 12 players will be selected to represent USA Volleyball as our Junior National Team at the World Championships in Saltillo, Mexico.  The Junior National Team will depart for Mexico on July 20th and return home on July 28th.  Competition will run from July 22-27.

The Coaching Staff for the Women’s Junior National Team will be:

Head Coach: Paula Weishoff, Head Coach - Concordia University
Assistant Coach: Kim Jagd, Assistant Coach - UCLA
Assistant Coach: John Corbelli, Assistant Coach – Texas A&M

Cost of the USA Volleyball WJNTT: USA Volleyball covers all costs of travel, lodging, meals, and training/competition.

Confirmation of the USA Volleyball WJNTT: Please email your accept/decline to Tom Pingel @ tom.pingel@usav.org.  The deadline for confirmation is Monday, May 12.

If you accept this invitation you will need to acquire a US Passport that is valid through the dates of the competition. This is a requirement for participation in any international event.

By accepting this invitation, barring any unforeseen injuries, you agree to participate in the NORCECA Championships if selected to the roster.  Furthermore, you agree to play any position or serve the role that best suits the needs of the team to be successful at the NORCECA Championships.  You will also notify USA Volleyball immediately should you suffer an injury that could deter you from performing at your best during the training and competition.

Note: Once we have received your acceptance we will distribute the necessary forms and paperwork required for your participation in this program. Specific travel requirements and other logistical information requests will be sent to you shortly.
