USA Women’s Volleyball National Team Tryouts

US Olympic Training Center – Colorado Springs, Colo.

Who: The tryout is open to female athletes who:

• Have completed high school
• High school athletes that are born in 1987 or EARLIER***
• Are US citizens

When/Where: Arrival to Colorado Springs by 4 pm on Friday, February 23, 2007 and departure after 2 pm on Sunday, February 25, 2007. All sessions will take place at the US Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs (OTC).

Cost: Tryout fee $100 (includes facility, medical staffing and tryout t-shirts). An additional $80 will be charged to those athletes wishing to stay at the OTC dorms. The additional fee covers room, meals and airport shuttle.

Non-OTC Room/Board/Local Transportation: The responsibility of each participant.

Travel to/from Colorado Springs: The responsibility of each participant.

NOTE: As this is the only means for an athlete to access the USA Women’s Volleyball National Team and its affiliate programs (including the 2007 World Championships and the US Open Championships) during the 2007 international calendar, this tryout falls within the NCAA “but for” analysis as it applies to Rule 16.8.1.3.  If an institution so chooses, it may pay their athlete’s necessary expenses to attend this tryout.  See NCAA ARS Case #9225.

As we have limited court space for this tryout, we will also be limiting the number of applications taken to insure a good experience for all participants and the opportunity for evaluators to do their job thoroughly.
