INTERNATIONAL HIGHLIGHTS: 2003 - 2004 – Team USA qualified for the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece, by winning the NORCECA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Caguas, Puerto Rico on Jan. 10…The men posted a perfect record of 6-0 en route to the gold medal, which included a come-from-behind, 3-2 win over Cuba in the championship match. 2003 – Named Best Setter of the NORCECA Zone Championships in September after leading Team USA to the gold medal and a berth in the 2003 World Cup, the first Olympic qualifier…Guided the USA Men to a fourth-place finish at the World Cup with an 8-3 record. 2002 – Captained Team USA to a ninth-place finish at the 24-team World Championships as the team finished with a record of 4-2 and handed eventual world champion Brazil its only loss of the tournament. 2001 – Did not play with the National Team. Played professionally for Casa Modena Salumi in Italy and led the team to the 2001-2002 Italian Domestic League championship...Also earned Most Valuable Player honors at the Italian Domestic League All-Star match. 2000 – Has been the team’s starting setter since his arrival in 1994…Finished the year first on the team in aces (44), second in digs (220) and fourth in blocks (63)…Set every match of the Continental Cup in leading the team to the title and a berth in the 2000 Sydney Olympics...Posted seven digs, four kills and four aces...Led the team to a 4-1 record on the Korea Tour with 17 digs, 12 kills, 11 aces and nine blocks...Led the team to a 4-0 record against Olympic host Australia...Named best setter at the 2000 World League and Americas' Cup…Played professionally for Daytona Volley in Italy. 1999 – Led the team to a second-place finish at the Americas' Cup...Earned the best setter honor at the NORCECA Zone Championship, where the team defeated Cuba to claim the title for the first time since 1985...Named the best setter at the Ninth Annual Ruffini Memorial Tournament in Italy where the team defeated No. 1-ranked Italy and No. 4-ranked Yugoslavia...Played in just five games of the Canada Trip, posting three kills, two aces and two blocks...Starting setter at the International Volleyball Challenge, which was the 2000 Sydney Olympic test event. 1998 – Led the team to a 47-19 overall record and a ninth-place finish at the World Championships…Started the season on the China Tour with 10 kills, six blocks, four aces and a .571 hitting percentage in three victories…Guided the team to the USA Champions Cup title with 13 kills, five blocks, two aces and a .524 hitting percentage…Posted 11 kills, nine digs, four blocks, two aces and a .643 hitting percentage in two victories over Poland…Played well at the Americas’ Cup, tallying 15 kills, 12 aces, 11 blocks and a .583 hitting percentage in seven matches…Had a season-highs of eight stuff blocks versus Portugal and five aces against Canada. 1997 – Played all four matches of the Japan Trip, recording 12 kills, seven blocks, two aces and a .500 attack percentage…Helped the team to a second-place finish at the NORCECA Zone Championship. Had his best match of the season on the Japan Tour with 11 digs, eight kills, two aces and a .778 hitting percentage. 1996 – Starting setter for the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games…Posted nine kills, three aces and a .571 hitting percentage in two victories over Bulgaria…Had seven kills, five blocks, two aces and a .778 attack percentage on the Russia Trip…Recorded 16 kills, 11 blocks and 10 aces in winning all five matches of the Japan Tour…Served 12 aces and blocked 11 balls in leading the team to the Deutschland Cup title. 1995 – Had five or more kills 17 times, including a career-high nine kills against Japan…Started the season strong with three victories on the Stars & Spikes Tour against Canada, registering 14 kills, four blocks, two aces and a .722 attack percentage…Helped the team win a silver medal at the Pan American Games with 15 kills, seven blocks and five aces…Played well on the Japan Trip with 15 kills, 11 blocks and three aces in two matches…Set in 11 of the team’s 12 World League matches…Set the team to a fourth-place finish at the World Cup with 38 kills, 25 aces, 17 blocks and a 478 hitting percentage. 1994 – Came to USA national team full-time in May 1994 after concluding stellar collegiate career…Led team with four stuff blocks versus Argentina in World Championship pool play...Posted seven service aces against Cuba in World Championships.

COLLEGE HIGHLIGHTS: Finished with school records for career assists (6,526), block assists (416) and service aces (167)...Also ranks third in career digs (771) and ninth in career kills (770)...Finished second in NCAA history in career assists and among top five in service aces. 1994 – American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) First-Team All-American…Asics/Volleyball First-Team All-American…Midwest Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (MIVA) Player of the Year…Directed Volleydons to the NCAA championship semifinals…Suffered a broken hand in a pick-up game of basketball prior to the championships. 1993 – AVCA Second-Team All-American…Asics/Volleyball Second-Team All-American…MIVA Player of the Year…Led the team in assists (1,762), digs (195) and aces (40)…Registered career-high 106 assists versus Ball State…Ranked No. 19 in the nation with a 407 hitting percentage and No. 16 with .38 aces per game. 1992 – AVCA Second-Team All-American…Asics/Volleyball Monthly First-Team All-American…First-Team All-MIVA…MIVA Tournament MVP…Recorded the second highest block assists (137) and digs (259) in school history…His 2.047 season assists were a school record and ranked third all-time in the NCAA. 1991 – Asics/Volleyball Monthly National Freshman of the Year…All-MIVA…Recorded 1,421 assists, 171 digs, 164 kills and 113 blocks.
