  Robert Browning

Rob Browning is in his fourth year as an assistant coach for the USA Men’s National Volleyball Team. He served most recently as the team’s Technical Coordinator. Browning brings a strong volleyball background to the position with nine years of coaching experience.

Browning most recently was an assistant coach with the Brigham Young University men's team, culminating in a national championship in 1999. For three years at BYU Browning assisted in all aspects of the program, with the bulk of his responsibilities lying in recording and analyzing statistics.

Prior to joining the BYU staff, Browning coached the Fairfax Junior Boys' volleyball program in Fairfax, Va. The club was founded and run by him. His teams participated in Junior National Championships each of the five years he coached. Several of his players have gone on the play at the collegiate level.

During his time in the Washington, DC area, Browning was also the head coach at the Holton-Arms School in Bethesda, Maryland. In his two years as head coach, the varsity team reached the finals of the Independent School League championships. Several of the athletes he coached enjoyed successful collegiate volleyball careers.

As a graduate of Brigham Young University, Browning has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Spanish Translation with a minor in International Relations. He played on the BYU club volleyball team from 1987 to 1989.

Browning is married to the former Michelle Perez and has one daughter, Madison (6), and a son, John, who was born on April 16, 2002.
