INTERNATIONAL HIGHLIGHTS: 2003 - Helped the United States earn a bronze medal at the 2003 World Cup and a berth in the 2004 Summer Olympic Games in Athens, Greece…Finished third on the team and 18th overall with 125 total points in 11 matches (96 kills, 21 blocks, 8 ace) as the United States went 8-3…On the season she was second on the team in service aces (20) and kills per set (2.78), third in points per set (3.38), fourth in total points (328) and fifth in blocks (41) and kills (270)…Plays professionally for MRV/Minas in Brazil. 2002 - Won a silver medal at the 2002 Women's Volleyball World Championships…Started the first 10 matches at the World Championships and averaged 12.3 points per match…Missed the gold-medal match against Italy due to injury after leading Team USA to a perfect 10-0 record…Played professionally for Radio 105 Foppapedretti Bergamo in Italy's Serie A1 for the 2001-2002 season…Helped lead the team to the Italian Domestic League championship in May. Other Highlights - Named Most Valuable Player of the Italian Pro League while playing for Ancona in 1990-91…Played for Motera from 1991-93 and helped guided her team to the Italian Domestic League Championship...Originally joined the U.S. National Team during the fall of 1986 at the age of 16…Started all five matches at the 1988 Olympics in Seoul, South Korea…Recorded 51 kills and 15 blocks in the five matches.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 1987 graduate of Palomar High School in Chula Vista, Calif….Also attended Artesia High School in Lakewood, Calif….Earned Most Valuable Player honors as a member of the gold-medal winning East squad at the 1986 U.S. Olympic Festival…Played on the 1985 and 1986 U.S. Junior Olympic championship teams…Earned Junior Olympic MVP honors in 1986…Earned USVBA Junior Olympic All-America acclaim three times (1984-85-86).

PERSONAL: Born June 30, 1969…Full first name is Prikeba, which Phipps says translates to "African Queen."…In 1988 she was honored by the Women's Sports Foundation with the Up-and-Coming Award, which was presented annually to 10 of the nation's outstanding young female athletes.
