INTERNATIONAL HIGHLIGHTS: Team USA qualified for the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece, by winning the NORCECA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Caguas, Puerto Rico on Jan. 10…The men posted a perfect record of 6-0 en route to the gold medal, which included a come-from-behind, 3-2 win over Cuba in the championship match. 2003 – Played in every tour as the team’s starting libero with the exception of the Colorado/Nebraska Tour and the Canada Tour, during which he shared time with teammate Rich Lambourne. 2002 – Played in all but one tour during season…He did not play in the Louisville Tour against Australia and Canada…He still led the team in digs with 225 (2.25 per set). 2001 – Finished second on the team in digs (156)…Played professionally for Piet Zoomers in The Netherlands. 2000 – Led the team in digs (307)...Received the best passer award at the Americas’ Cup...Ranked among the top five best diggers in the World League Final Round...Named best digger at the Continental Cup, helping Team USA qualify for the 2000 Sydney Olympics. 1999 – Starting libero on the second-place team at the Americas' Cup...Sparked the team to a three-game victory over Cuba in the semifinals...Named best passer at the NORCECA Zone Championship...Played libero on the Canada Trip, recording a 2.45 passing average...Was the libero in three matches of the Italy Trip, including a five-game win over the Italians at the Ninth Annual Ruffini Memorial Tournament. 1998 – Earned $50,000 and the Best Digger award at the World Championships...Moved into the libero position prior to the championships...Received the Tom Haine Players’ Award...Saw extensive playing time on the Poland Trip, posting four of five matches with 10 or more kills...Made a significant contribution on the Japan Tour with 42 kills, 14 digs, seven blocks and a .457 hitting percentage. 1997 – Had a solid outing in his second match on the national team, posting 10 digs, eight kills and a .462 hitting percentage against Japan...Had a career match against Canada in the NORCECA Zone Championships, tallying a career-high 17 digs along with 16 kills, two stuff blocks and a .565 hitting percentage...Named Best Defender at the championships...Received the team’s coaches award.
