| U.S. MEN SECURE TICKET TO OLYMPIC GAMES IN BEIJING |

The U.S. Men’s National Volleyball Team qualified for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing with a 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, 25-20) victory over Puerto Rico on Jan. 11 at the 2008 NORCECA Continental Olympic Qualifying Championship in Caguas, Puerto Rico. The U.S. Men won the tournament with a 5-0 record and without dropping a set. Puerto Rico finished second with a 4-2 record. Cuba defeated Canada (25-23, 25-23, 24-26, 25-23) to finish third. MORE

USAV WINTER MEETINGS HELD IN COLORADO SPRINGS |

| The USA Volleyball Board of Directors, Executive Council and Executive Committee met in Colorado Springs Jan. 10-13 as part of the organization’s Winter Meetings. A major focus of the agenda was the continued restructuring of the USA Volleyball Board of Directors and the governance model of USA Volleyball. The Board spent a good portion of the Winter Meetings going over revised bylaws, which were passed as amended. In addition, Kevin Twohig was elected to the non-voting at-large position on the restructured board. MORE

Rachel Wacholder won two AVP Crocs Hot Winter Nights titles in a row in St. Louis and Kansas City, beating Jenny Johnson Jordan in the finals on both occasions. Mark Williams won his second Hot Winter Nights title in Kansas City.

| Over 160 athletes participate in four USA Volleyball Holiday Camps Dec. 27-30 in various locations. The USA Volleyball Women's Junior Holiday Camp in Chula Vista, Calif., drew players from 11 different states from Hawai'i to Tennessee. MORE

USA Volleyball's High Performance Indoor Program will host 33 tryouts for girls in 2008. The USA Volleyball High Performance Tryout online registration system will be available soon. Cost for registering through the online High Performance Tryout registration system will stay at $65; and the cost for registering using the mail-in or fax-in HP tryout registration will be $75. MORE

SITTING VOLLEYBALL RETURNS TO OMAHA |

| The 4th Annual Sitting Volleyball Tournament will be held March 1 at The Volleyball Center at the Westroads Club in Omaha, Neb. The tournament features cash prizes, competitive and recreation divisions and free lunch for players. Cost is $30 team donation or $5 per player. MORE

Nearly 200 individuals will attend the USA Volleyball High Performance Coaches' Clinic held Jan. 17-20 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. World-renowned Russian volleyball coach Nikolai Karpol - The Howling Bear - will serve as the keynote speaker for the event. Hugh McCutcheon and Lang Ping will also provide insight and court training.

USA VOLLEYBALL COACHING ACCREDITATION PROGRAM (CAP) |

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR ALL JUNIOR CLUB COACHES AND DIRECTORS!
Because ALL USAV Junior Club coaches must be IMPACT certified to coach in 2008, the USAV Events and Educations Departments will not be offering any on-site IMPACT Clinics at either the Girls or the Boys Junior Olympic Championships this summer. All coaches MUST have been IMPACT certified BEFORE arriving at their Championship tournament. USAV Junior Club coaches will have ample opportunities to do so at on-site Clinics hosted by their Region Office, at Junior Qualifier on-site Clinics and on-line via the USAV IMPACT Clinic Webinars.
Coaches will have ample opportunities to earn an IMPACT certification in 2008 by attending:
- A Region sponsored local IMPACT Clinic (Contact your Region Office for their local IMPACT Clinic schedule), or
- A Qualifier Tournament IMPACT Clinic (Contact the Qualifier Tournament Staff/Director for information on their IMPACT Clinic offerings), or
- An IMPACT Clinic held in conjunction with a USAV-CAP course, or
- An IMPACT on-line Webinar and passing the on-line test.
