USAV TO INTRODUCE JUNIOR NEWSLETTERS
USA Volleyball is introducing two new electronic newsletters just for junior volleyball players and their parents and coaches. There will be one newsletter for girls and one for boys. The newsletters will have high performance news, features and photos of club, junior or high school teams and players and stories and photos BY club, junior or high school teams and players. Please, SEND US YOUR CONTENT! We want these newsletters to be a fun benefit for our junior players and their supporters. USA VOLLEYBALL BOARD VOTES TO RESTRUCTURE
The USA Volleyball (USAV) Board of Directors unanimously approved a motion to restructure itself at its winter meeting held Jan. 12-14 in Colorado Springs, Colo. The Board’s size will be reduced from its current number of 30 voting members to 15 voting members and one non-voting, at-large member. The Executive Committee structure will be eliminated. The new Board will be seated at the conclusion of the 2008 Summer Olympic Games. MORE

USA Volleyball has announced the coaching staffs for its High Performance teams competing at FIVB World Championships this summer. Andy Banachowski (UCLA), Shelton Collier (Wingate), Andy Read (Long Beach State) and Tino Reyes (Hawai'i) have been selected as head coaches of the youth and junior teams this summer. MORE

NORCECA COMMISSION MEETINGS BEGIN FEB. 24
The North, Central American and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation (NORCECA) annual commissions meetings are set to begin on Feb. 24 and run through March 2. The meetings will be held at the organization's headquarters in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. MORE

After the 30th FIVB World Congress approved the FIVB’s $3 million tsunami relief package last October, FIVB President Dr. Ruben Acosta, the Asian Volleyball Confederation President and head of the task force Mr. Jizhong Wei and Mondo Rubber have all of them confirmed the final details of the project and the schedule for construction. A total of 18 new schools will be funded by the FIVB, distributed across the tsunami-hit regions according to the priorities fixed by the FIVB’s tsunami task force. The majority of the schools will be built in Indonesia (8), with 5 planned for Thailand, 4 for Sri Lanka and 1 for the Maldives. To learn more click here...
