Academic Spotlight: Brittany Lamon
Brittany Lamon is a 15-year-old ninth grader who attends The Webb Schools preparatory school of Claremont, Calif. This prep school is an academically rigorous boarding school where she lives on campus with a population of about 400 students. She is class
historian and carries seven classes, including physics and French. She has aspirations to be a cardiologist and loves science.
Brittany played volleyball this year for Webb's Junior Varsity as an incoming Freshman. At the end of the 2007 season, she was awarded
most valuable player for playing libero for the team with no sub. Brittany played 17 games and had 286 passes, 186 digs, 31 assists, 21 kills and 14 aces this season Her averages are all at around 90 percent.
She is now playing for the Ripcurls Volleyball Club 15 Red Team (Anaheim, Calif.) coached by Dru Dobbs. She is off-campus three times a week at practice while maintaining a 3.7 grade point average.
Brittany attended the USA Volleyball High Performance camp last summer in Tacoma, Wash. She has attended volleyball camps during the summer at Stanford University and UCLA, and also trains with CATZ performance training during the year.
Brittany is an outstanding player who dreams of playing for the USA National Team one day and going on to play in the Olympics.
