DUCT TAPE FUNDRAISER LEADS TO $4,500 FOR HIGH SCHOOL
Lake of the Woods High School in Baudette, Minn., conducted an interesting fundraiser in October for its volleyball program under the direction of Jill Olson. As part of a fish fry fundraising event, each player on the volleyball team had to raise $300 in order to duct tape Coach Olson to the wall during the fish fry. VOLLEY FOR THE CURE CREATES A PINK OUT

Nearly 15,000 Ohio volleyball players donned pink jerseys with more than 150,000 spectators dressed in pink in the stands as part of the Volley for the Cure crusade. MORE

STARLINGS HOLDS CONVENTION WITH 53 CLUBS PRESENT
Starlings Volleyball Club held its annual Directors Convention at the Marriott Courtyard San Diego Central Dec. 7-9 in which 53 Starlings Clubs across the country attended. TUCSON HOSTS 2008 USA HIGH PERFORMANCE CHAMPIONSHIPS

Matches will take place on 15 courts in the Tucson Convention Center exhibition halls and arena in downtown Tucson. The event is expected to have a $2.4 million economic impact on Tucson. MORE

USA Volleyball's Junior Girls' Newsletter is seeking any interesting story ideas that exist in the volleyball community, whether it relates to activity on the court or off such as an athlete with great grades, giving back to the community, being presented with an award, possessing a talent other than volleyball or daughter of a well-known person. Please forward ideas to Bill Kauffman for possible inclusion in an upcoming issue.

Also, the Junior Girls' Newsletter is seeking outgoing junior club players willing to interview players or take candid photos at various tournaments, then share to the public within this online publication. Junior players can also submit blogs, journal entries or other various "In Their Own Words" articles (essays, poems, artwork). To submit an entry, send to Bill Kauffman.
