WOODSTRA BRINGS EXTRA EXPERIENCE TO NATIONAL TEAM
Sue Woodstra USA Volleyball has announced the hiring of 1984 Olympian Sue Woodstra as an assistant coach for the U.S. Women’s National Volleyball Team. She will begin her duties with Team USA on June 1 and will continue in that role through the 2008 Olympics. MORE

USAV ANNOUNCES WOMEN'S JUNIOR NATIONAL TRAINING TEAM
Alix Klineman puts up a block against Tunisia. USA Volleyball has announced the 24-player roster for the 2007 U.S. Women’s Junior National Training Team, which will train May 18-20 in Austin, Texas. Within a week after the training session, the roster will be cut in half to 12 players who will represent the U.S. at the FIVB U-20 World Championships held July 19-27 in Nakhonratchasima, Thailand. USAV “BOYCE” AWARDS BANQUET SET FOR MAY 24
The Dorothy C. Boyce Annual Awards and Recognition Banquet, will recognize leaders within USA Volleyball on Thursday, May 24, at the Hilton Austin Hotel Salon H Ballroom beginning at 6 p.m. The Boyce is presented by Molten USA and co-sponsored by Mizuno. Festivities begin at 4:30 p.m. with the annual silent auction and reception hosted by the USA Volleyball Foundation. MORE

On May 26, 2007, to provide recognition for individuals and YMCAs that have made significant contributions to the development of volleyball in the YMCA, the YMCA Volleyball Hall of Fame will honor five men and women and one YMCA facility at their annual luncheon ceremony scheduled for 1 p.m. in Austin, Texas at the Hilton Hotel during the USA Volleyball Annual Meetings and Championships. UC Irvine Captures First NCAA Men's Volleyball Title

UC Irvine's Anteaters blended their power game with great defense to beat IPFW 3-1 on May 5 and win their first volleyball national championship. The second-seeded Anteaters (29-5) won by scores of 30-20, 24-30, 30-23 and 30-28. MORE.

The 203 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) have been invited to submit the name of a city within their jurisdiction as an Applicant to host the Games in nine years’ time.
