NORCECA MEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP COMING TO ANAHEIM
The 2007 NORCECA Men's Continental Championship, held Sept. 16-21 at Anaheim, Calif., is the stepping stone into 2008 Olympic Qualification. The top two teams in the tournament earn berths into the 2007 World Cup, the initial qualifying tournament for the 2008 Olympics. MORE

U.S. MEN DEFEND AMERICA'S CUP CROWN IN BRAZIL

Clay Stanley led Team USA in the championship match with 23 points, while Reid Priddy earned Best Receiver for the tournament. MORE


U.S. WOMEN FINISH SEVENTH AT WORLD GRAND PRIX
The U.S. Women’s National Team faced a daunting schedule - the third toughest - to qualify for the FIVB World Grand Prix Finals. Team USA finished seventh at the conclusion of the three World Grand Prix preliminary round weekends with a 5-4 record, just out of qualification for the Finals Round. MORE

The U.S. Men ended their trip to the World University Games on a high note on Sunday as they trounced Italy 3-0 to win the bronze medal in Bangkok, Thailand. The U.S. Men finished with a 7-1 record. Their only loss came to defending champion Turkey in the semifinals. Turkey went on to win the gold medal with a 3-1 victory over Canada. MORE

U.S. MEN'S SITTING TEAM LOSES SHOT AT 2008 PARALYMPICS
The U.S. Men’s Sitting Volleyball Team was blindsided by Brazil in the gold-medal match on Sunday at the Parapan American Games and fell 2-3 (24-26, 25-21, 25-22, 20-25, 9-15) in Rio de Janeiro. Besides the gold medal, the U.S. Sitting Men also missed qualifying for the 2008 Paralympic Games in Beijing. The Parapan Ams were their last opportunity. MORE

2007 USA OPEN OF BEACH VOLLEYBALL APPROACHING

Sanctioned by USA Volleyball and produced by The Elevation Group, the USA Open of Beach Volleyball is expected to draw more than 250 volleyball teams in the first year held Sept. 21-23 at Huntington Beach, Calif. Tournament play will take place in 15 different divisions, including draws for men, women and co-ed teams. MORE

KARCH KIRALY RETIRING DRAWS ADDED MEDIA ATTENTION
Karch Kiraly, an international beach and indoor volleyball legend with Olympic gold medals in both disciplines, has gained recent media attention as his retirement draws near. He was featured on a National Public Radio segment on Aug. 17. Fox Sports West aired a feature titled "Karch Kiraly ... The King of the Beach" on Aug. 20. DALLAS HOSTS 2008 USA JUNIOR OLYMPIC GIRLS CHAMPIONSHIP

Located in the heart of the city’s downtown, the Dallas Convention Center will host the 2008 USA Junior Olympic Girls' Volleyball Championships held June 26 to July 5. It has been a decade, but the city of Dallas is familiar to USA Volleyball’s Junior Olympic Championships. In 1998, both the boys’ and girls’ tournaments were held in Dallas. MORE
